Perhaps, my favorite A. R. scene ...

... was in, the worst version of Robin Hood, ever, with oh, the 'Dances with Wolves', guy ... it escapes me right no ...

so, anyway, Alan is the Sherriff of Nottingham, and sexy in that dark, sinister way, he does so convincingly ... he's working to marry and bed Maid Marion, before Robin gets to him ... she is of course, alluding him ... and he's dodging arrows' ...

it's a great scene for the physical comedy, as well as, the striptease, he afffects ... hilarious & predatory ... bravo, Alan! Eileen

    I have many-as I guess would be expected :)

Col Brandon, Sense and Sensibility, pacing outside the room, and saying, "give me a task or I shall run mad"

Jamie in Truely Madly Deeply-last scene with him in the window

Rev Slope in Barchester Chronicles when he is preaching the sermon

Quigly Down Under when he is supposed to be this great gun man, but if you watch close every time he fires a gun he tenses up and closes his eyes :)

    good segway to

Close My Eyes, near the end of the film when he is rubbing her feet and makes his point clear

An Awfully Big Adventure-mmmm Alan.....eyeliner.....Capt Hook

Dogma, sitting in the fancy restaurant smirking

Blow Dry, near the end when he is competing, and he is barefoot

Sorcerers Stone, the bewitching the mind speech

    Chamber of Secrets, watching quidditch

Prizoner of Azkaban, "turn to page 394"

Goblet of Fire, study hall scene

Love Actually, "tell him you love him, want to get married, and have lots of sex and babies"

Something the Lord Made, when he curses in his best Southern accent

Damn, I can't just choose one Col Brandon scene! What about when he stumbles in from the rain, carrying Marianne? Or when he's reading her the poetry? Or when he gently chides Eleanor for wishing Marianne to become better acquainted with the ways of the world?

Let's not even start on the Snape scenes! Or the Snape scenes that SHOULD be in the movies but AREN'T... Grr... but I do have to mention Snape's fabulous entry into the classroom, furiously banging the shutters closed with his wand.... >:D

Galaxy Quest when he tells Tim's character to find the motivation for the rock monster and when he finally does the chant.
Snape in Prisoner when he is protective and of course his very good bad side in Die Hard.

I should have just known Skar would be the other person to love AR barefoot in "Blow Dry" ... ;-)

As well as all the scenes mentioned, I also love the losing-the-battle-with-the-dishwasher scene in "Close Your Eyes", and in "Mesmer", the first time he's "healing" (or whatever the hell he was supposed to be doing) the blind girl .... bad movie, but excellent for Alan-lusting.

Does anyone else get all weepy in "Galaxy Quest" when the little alien guy dies in Alan's arms? I'm such a girl, lol.

Yes! Alan kicking ass!! And I love that he does it in that movie as a good guy. He does "bad" sooooooooooo well, but it's especially nice to see him as a hero (which is what Snape will turn out to be, just watch).

Which reminds me of one of my fave AR scenes ever, which I can't believe I forgot about until now!! It's from my favorite Xmas movie of all time, "Die Hard"

Throughout most of the movie the cops believe that terrorism is their motive (this isn't a spoiler, the audience already knows); so when Mrs. Bruce Willis' char's wife finds out what they're really after and sneers "After all your posturing, all your speeches, you're nothing but a common thief", he drops down to her level, arms on either side of her, mouth inches from hers and growls, "I am an EXCEPTIONAL thief, Mrs. McClane. And since I'm moving up to kidnapping, you should be more polite."

(I think I knew I was in love with my current sweetie when he quoted that line, word for word, before I was even done explaining which part of the scene was my favorite! Yes, he also has a very sexy voice)
